“This artwork is about the definition of family. My artwork represents how family isn't always limited to people related by blood but can consist of the people around you that share a connection and a relationship with.
In the centre circle of this artwork there is a group of 8 people standing around in a circle. The larger figures represent your immediate family, the smaller figures represent other people that have impacts on your lives. The sizing of the figures represent how much of an impact and involvement that have on you and your family. The central core of the picture depicts family. The arms extended off the centre circle shows how family members can move out, travel, get married and start their own families, live elsewhere and yet they will always be connected.
The background symbolises how families may be different sizes, go in different directions then come across a challenge and must change direction to overcome this minor obstacle. However in the end the family can always reach out to an arm and know that they will be accepted and cared for by the group of people who form a family.”
The t-shirt features the Title and Artist name on the back right shoulder and the story of the artwork is printed on the inside.
