Designed by AIME mentee Eytahnyia Scott, a Jaru woman from the Kimberleys in Western Australia, this is a replica of the jersey the Randwick Rugby team wore for their Indigenous Day match.
It’s a celebration of Randwick’s Indigenous players, coaches and officials, both past and present. It is the first time the jersey design has been changed in the club’s proud 133-year history.
Eytahnyia says her design is about connection:
“My artwork represents a campsite with people gathered around telling their stories. I hope the people who see it will feel happy and if they know Aboriginal symbols they will hopefully get the idea of everyone coming together.”
